On 7–8 December, a two-day workshop was held at Stockholm University bringing together researchers from HRJust Work Packages 2, 4, and 5. The meeting focused on advancing the project’s work on mapping how States use human rights justifications in policy decisions and legal measures.
During the workshop, participants shared ongoing research, discussed methodological approaches, and coordinated plans for the coming years of collaboration. Particular attention was given to developing common analytical tools and ensuring consistency across different case studies and thematic areas within the project.
The workshop also provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between work packages, align research objectives, and identify future joint activities, publications, and outreach efforts. These discussions contribute directly to HRJust’s broader aim of understanding how human rights reasoning is used in political and legal contexts, and how such justifications impact rights protection in practice.
The meeting marked an important step in preparing the next phase of research and reinforcing collaboration among project partners.
